What is the Tambourines Project?

You deserve to be happy. You deserve to be healthy. You deserve to be safe. You deserve to be whole. You deserve to be heard.

The Tambourines Project is a one-time scholarship fund established by Elizabeth Lamar to provide education, assistance and child sexual abuse prevention training to facilitators of the Stewards of Children program. Through a partnership with Darkness to Light, a nonprofit organization with the mission to empower people to prevent child sexual abuse and developers of the Stewards of Children program, funds raised through efforts of the Tambourines Project will be granted to an advocacy group serving the Atlanta, Georgia community. The online fundraiser will run August 29, 2014 through September 26, 2014. All sales from the Thousand Tambourines – a journal after the outcry eBook ($3 per download) will be used to fund the scholarship, with a fundraising goal of $350.00 – the cost to put a trained facilitator in a community - and will be distributed in October 2014.

Six years after her outcry, Elizabeth hopes this blog and eBook will serve as a safe space and information portal for survivors in need of support and encouragement as well as anyone seeking to understand how to prevent the abuse of children.
